Yup, it was 100° today, and what was I doing? Working on Christmas stuff out in the garage. 🙂 I found some C9 strings for sale on Craigslist. Thanks to a seller that went out of her way to meet, I was finally was able to get them. There were a couple more than I needed for lighting, so I whacked one of the older ones up and made a testing board for my SS series controllers. Follow along:
- CL Find. Several C9 Strings.
- Dividing up the strand into test sockets with leads.
- Initial Layout with SS24 and rows marked out.
- Inserting the tab into the coroplast.
- Tab fully inserted.
- Finished test board. Simple but effective.
- Several SS Series, all ready to go
And finally, a video with it in action:
All in all, a simple tester that verified all the boards I have built to add to this year’s display. No showpiece, but function trumped form for this one. One more controller to build, and I will be done with that side of things for now.
